brisbane art(full)...jan manton arts' (latest)

The fortunate few :: (namely me) were recently offered a sneak peek @ Jan Manton Arts' latest collection.
I will not try to put in words the meaning behind the artist's (Ken Yonetani) vision for his latest works (07/07 to 31/07/2010), but offer feedback on the mouth-open gasps of gallery passerby's, staggered by what they saw.
This is a truly awesome, jaw dropping collection...
If you get a chance, pop over to JM art @ 59 Melbourne Street, South Brisbane .au

adding a 'Friend' to our collection...

Brisbane, Australia artist Ian Friend of the 'art bunker' collective, recently showed his latest collection @ Andrew Baker Art Dealer to a large, receptive & (wintery) cold crowd. We had to have 'Tracing the paths of memory 1' 2010 :: Indian ink, gouache & crayon, works on khardi paper. Photo close up and one with artist (Ian Friend).

the complete room by marcio kogan

This Brazilian home by architect Marcio Kogan is truly a masterpiece, with its wonderful mix of natural materials and simple finishes and an understated open plan elegance that appears to welcome with open arms and open panels. The property even features 3x 100 year + mango trees.
The living/dining and outdoor entertaining areas format as one room...the complete room for mine.

The Met...Bangkok

Climate-controlled high-rises make sense when changing seasons bring extreme temperature shifts, but in Bangkok, year round hot and humid days blend into similarly sultry nights. Enter The Met, an award winning residential skyscraper by multidisciplinary design from WOHA Designs. (story by Jordin Kushins - Dwell Magazine)
Called by principal WOHA architect, Mun Summ Wong as a 'vertical community' this building takes great design advantage of cross-ventilation between towers, connected by bridges that double as airborne gardens and terraces. Make sure you take the time to view all the works of WOHA Designs. Something quite different...

michael bechara design :: retro 'ultra' chic

I love this living/dining/outdoor space that has been cleverly designed by Sydney .au designer Michael Bechara of Michael Bechara Design . The room is relaxed and welcoming, but at the same time filled with a personality and retro character. The overall look has a distinctive elegance to it...please have a look @ website link.
